This page is one of a sequence of Mapping Lessons.
The map will be in full brightness until you build it.
After you build it, switching to Dynamic Light at the top of the toolbar (shown below) will show you what effect your light had on it's surroundings.
With the mouse on the exact location of where you want to place the light, do one of the following:
- right-click a surface in a 3D UnrealEd Viewport and do Viewport Context Menu → Add Light Here (see screenshot below).
- Hold down the L key and left-click in a 3D Viewport.
Placing a light
Lights can be manipulated like any other actor:
- duplicate them with CTRL-W
- move them in Camera Movement mode.
