Converting UT maps

  1. Load the UT map in UEd 2
  2. Do Brush Context Menu → Select → select all brushes
  3. Do Transform permanently on the whole selection (because rotation & scaling data is not understood by UEd 3)
  4. Do Edit → Copy
  5. in UEd 3, do Edit → Paste (you can run both UEds at the same time with 256MB of RAM. You can also paste to a text editor for later reuse)
  6. rebuild. All surfaces will show the default texture.

Other actors may convert across also, it's worth experimenting one by one to see. Post details here :)

Mosquito:The old texture packages are compbatible with the new ones, do a Texture Cull, then copy all the used textures to your /ut2003/texture folder, then when you rebuild, all the textures SHOULD be there, but I havn't tested it buy converting a map.

Ben 2500:The old sound files are combatible with the new ones to. You can

run both editors with 128MB Ram to.

Dark Pulse: It worked like that when I converted a fEw Unreal Maps to UT Play. Helps that UT had a lot of the same textures, though.

Nytro: I seriously doubt that Atari was formerly known as Infogrames. (Atari 2600's, for example, give me that feeling.)

Angelus: Infogrames bought the Atari name. The company that now goes by Atari is the company that formerly went by Infogrames.
